Naked save for a pair of cowboy boots, an American flag-patterned jacket, and some glitter on her cheeks, Kesha Rose Sebert sinks into a couch in her dressing room and ponders the concept of money. “It comes and goes, and it buys you shit,” says the 23-year-old pop sensation known to the public as Ke$ha. “But it’s a manmade creation, so I don’t let it rule my life.” Then she grins, flashes her wide blue eyes, and says, “I am fucking money.”

digg
Which isn’t entirely inaccurate, judging by how she spells her name, at least. I ask about the stylized moniker, bracing for an eye roll. “Anybody would get sick of that question, especially if you’re being asked 45 times every day, but I’m the asshole who put it there,” she says. “I had no money when I chose it and, instead of wallowing in self-pity, I decided to use it as a statement of self-worth.”

First they came for Snooki…”

In a lab in Los Angeles somewhere, Ofir personally created Snooki, the Situation, Tila Tequila, and JWOWW using only tanning oil, the residue of decades of ethnic stereotyping, and some hair extensions….How might one get cast on such a show? How can you win a chance to become as famous as, say, that person who won the Paris Hilton’s B.F.F. thing?”

New York Magazine/Vulture: “Jersey Shore’s Mike “the Situation” Sorrentino has presented himself as quite the genius when it comes to nicknames; he even went so far as to dub Conan “the Solution.” But a BlackBook profile of Doron Ofir, the man who cast the Jersey Shore (and is now busy casting not only The Persian Version, Wicked Summer, and Jersey Shore 3, but also Chongas, “a Jersey Shore–like take on Latino gay men”), suggests Sorrentino might be misrepresenting his talents. In his casting video, Sorrentino told producers, “Mikey Abs, Mikey Arms and The Situation are my nicknames.” Those first two don’t have quite the same ring to them, now do they now? [BlackBook]”
